  • Fresh lemon juice + zest
  • Garlic cloves
  • Onion or shallots
  • Chicken stock
  • Olive oil or butter

Step 1: Season with Intention

  • Rub the chicken with salt, pepper, and lemon zest. Let it sit while you prep the rest.

Step 2: Sear for Flavor

  • Heat oil in a wide pot. Brown the chicken until golden—don’t rush.

Step 3: Build the Aromatics

  • Remove chicken. Add onion and garlic to the same pot. Stir slowly.

Step 4: Toast the Rice

  • Add rice directly to the pot. Stir until edges turn translucent.
