Ingredients
  

  • Shrimp medium-sized, peeled, deveined
  • Sushi rice short-grain
  • Nori sheets seaweed
  • Mayonnaise Japanese Kewpie preferred
  • Sriracha sauce
  • Cucumber thinly sliced
  • Avocado optional
  • Rice vinegar sugar, salt
  • Soy sauce – for dipping obviously.
  • Sesame seeds optional

Instructions
 

Step 1: Cook the Shrimp

  • Sauté shrimp in a hot pan with a touch of oil, salt, and pepper. Two minutes per side

Step 2: Make the Spicy Mayo

  • Mix two tablespoons of mayo with one tablespoon of Sriracha. Adjust spice to taste.

Step 3: Season the Rice

  • mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Fold it gently into the cooked sushi rice.

Step 4: Set Up the Rolling Station

  • Lay a bamboo mat on a flat surface. Place a nori sheet shiny side down. Wet your fingers and spread rice evenly

Step 5: Add the Fillings

  • Line up shrimp, cucumber, and avocado slices across the center. Drizzle a bit of spicy mayo.

Step 6: Roll It Up

  • Lift the bamboo mat edge closest to you and start rolling forward, pressing gently but firmly.

Step 7: Slice and Serve

  • Use a sharp knife dipped in water to cut the roll into 6–8 pieces. Don’t rush this clean the knife between slices for neat cuts.
